"Twice Upon A Time" is a toe tapping pure country fun loving album. This Joe Diffie album really makes you want to get up and start dancing the minute you pop this CD into your stereo. Joe takes the normal day sayings or even lines from movies and commercials and turns them into memorable songs. Such as; "This is Your Brain", "Houston, We Have A Problem", and "John Doe." "This is Your Brain" is my favorite song on this album. He has a great way of turning ‘this is your brain on drugs' saying that is carved into people's heads into ‘this is your brain on love'. You could almost consider it a well done, roll on the floor laughing parody.
Of the eleven songs on this album there are about three of them that show Joe's soft romantic ballad side, but he doesn't stay in the lovey dovey mood for too long. The song flow on this CD is all over the place especially when he goes from face paced, fun songs to slow dancing and romantic tones. But, Joe has a way of getting your right back to the toe tapping excitement without breaking a tear.
Each song's lyrics are right to the point, there's no beating around the bush. As well as each song has a meaning for everyone, no one is left out of this album!
CD tracks include: "This is Your Brain", "Twice Upon A Time", "Show Me A Woman", "The Promised Land", "Houston, We Have A Problem", "Somethin' Like This", "I Got A Feelin'", "Zero", "It's Hard To Be Me", "John Doe", and "One More Breath".
I highly recommend this album. I purchased it at my local Best Buy for $11. If you need one of those "I had my heart broke but I don't want to sulk" albums, then this is for you!
