Being the concerned parent that I am I wanted to make sure that I brought everything that my infant son would need while we vacationed in Jamaica. Since there was a break out of Malaria in some areas of Jamaica during the time we were to visit, I didn't want to risk my sone being bit. So, in addition to the Sun-Net I purchased for use over the car seat and stroller, I also worried about him getting bit at night. I found the Jolly Jumper Weathersafe Baby Insect Tent at the safety superstore and I am glad I bought it!

It is a portable tent that folds flat and is held closed by a strong, flat white elastic band for storage. It is also easy to setup. I just removed the elastic band and the tent pops-up into shape! The only downside to installation is that it is a bit tricky to close because it folds in on itself and you have to bend it at the correct side to get it to fold. 1st time I did it wrong, 2nd time I read the instructions and got it right. Lesson learned....Read instructions!

This baby tent protects babies from disease carrying insects. The top panel also provides 98% UVA and UVB protection so It could be used indoors or out. On our trip we stayed in a hotel and was told that mosquitoes are not found at most hotels but I still wasn't taking any chances. The tent fit nicely in the playpen and was large enough for my then 8 month old to sleep in comfortably. We also used it outside for when he fell asleep at the beach. There is mesh on both sides that lets air circulate and it is roomy so we weren't worried about SIDS. We also took this with us when we went to visit relatives anf he slept fine it.

My only suggestion is that it was HOT in Jamaica and my son was very sweaty in this tent. Well, he's Hot in general - little beads of sweat form on his head even while he is breastfeeding! We had to spread thin receiving blankets on the bottom to help soak up some of sweat. This is not a fault of the product but I'd thought I'd mention it. My dilligent fight against Jamaican mosquitoes paid off - no bites, no sunburn. I'd recommend this product to any parent travelling with an infant.
