After years of struggling with heavy vacuums from floor to floor, in our two-story house, I am officially in heaven with my Freedom vacuum by Simplicity. And freedom is a great word for it! Freedom from backaches, freedom from straining, and freedom from lugging a dinosaur upstairs and down.

It all started in the most unusual way. A tenant of ours (in a rental house) developed health problems, and needed to move in with her daughter. Because there would be duplicates of so many things in their combined household, our tenant asked if she could leave some things behind. She said that we were welcome to anything that she was not able to transport to her new home.

My husband came home with the Simplicity Freedom Vacuum, and started raving about it. (He said that he almost enjoyed vacuuming with it.) Now he had my attention, so I also gave it a whirl! Simplicity claims that you will flip over their vacuums, and flip I did over this one! It was so lightweight that I didn't even feel like I was vacuuming. And the bonus--it's a full-sized upright vacuum! But it only weighs 8 pounds!

It features HiFlow HEPA filtration which is great for allergy sufferers, and contributes to deep carpet cleaning. It also has an ergonomic handle that is comfortable to hold while vacuuming. And the speedy release cord makes plugging it in a snap also. It does use bags, which I prefer, because I hate getting exposed to all that dust and dirt when emptying bagless vacuums.

There is absolutely nothing that I dislike about my Simplicity Freedom vacuum! In fact, we loved it so much, that my husband purchased another one for me, as a gift, so that I wouldn't have to carry the vacuum up and down the stairs. So now we have one for each floor! They say that they don't call it "Freedom" for nothing, and they are SO right about that!
