The visiting nurse who took care of my husband when he was being treated for his toe infection gave us some syringes for his insulin injections. They are Kendall Monoject Insulin Safety Syringes, and they are very easy to use.
These syringes have a safety shield which protects the needle until you are ready to use it. The needle is extremely fine, and my husband says that it really isn't all that uncomfortable to inject himself with these syringes.
Each syringe comes individually wrapped in its own packet, and the needle is permanently attached. They are made for single use and are latex-free. They are non-toxic and non-pyrogenic. The needle is 1/2 mL, and they are made for use with U-100 insulin only.
My husband and I never thought he would have to give himself insulin injections, but now that he does, it certainly helps to have a syringe that does the job as effortlessly and painlessly as possible. I would recommend these syringes to anyone who is diabetic and needs to inject insulin.
