I own a Kenmore 80 series washer. This is a super capacity plus washer. This washer has a three speed motor with a four speed combination. It has a hand wash/casual speed where it washes at an extra slow speed and rinses on a slow speed. This washer has a delicate cycle which washes at a slow speed and rinses at a slow speed. It has a normal cycle where it washes at a slow speed and rinses at a fast speed. It has a heavy duty cycle where it washes and rinses at a fast speed.
The Kenmore 80 series washer also has three settings which are permanent press, prewash and soak. It has three different water temperatures it can wash on such as wash on hot and rinse on cold, it can wash and rinse on cold water, and it can wash on warm water and rinse on warm water. This washer also has two settings that have automatic temperature control. One setting allows the washer to wash with water that is slightly warmer than the warm setting but the water is not quite hot. The other automatic temperature control setting has me baffled as it allows the washer to wash and rinse with cold water. I am not sure how this is different from the regular cold water wash setting but what ever. lol
This Kenmore 80 series washer can do small loads to very large loads. This washer is very easy to use and does a great job. The only thing I don't like about this washer is that it is extremely deep which means I have to stand on my tiptoes to reach the bottom to get clothes out but then I am short. To make this a better washer, they might want to make it wider instead of deeper.
Update On May 07, 2010: I have had this washer for about 10 years. I am uploading a video since it still gets pageviews. Not sure if they still sell it but since people are viewing this review I thoiught they night like to see a videoi of it. I really have enjoyed this washer as it has served me well.
