We've slowly been replacing our kitchen appliances as needed. This year the Sears Kenmore Stainless Steel 1.1 cu.ft. Countertop Microwave was a perfect replacement choice for an old, out-of-date microwave. It is smaller, giving us more counter space, something we are really short on.
Set up was as easy as removing it from the box, putting in the glass turntable, and setting the LCD display to the right time of day. The front edges of the microwave, along with a windowed glass door are trimmed in stainless steel. The sides and top are black. The interior is white and has a glass turntable. There is a push release to open the door, and it swings open to the left which is perfect for where we have it in the corner of our countertop. The overall measurements of our new microwave are 18" wide x 11" high x 12" deep. The turntable measures 9-5/8" which is a good size for us. Our new microwave has 1100 watts of power and uses a standard 120v outlet.
Some of the great features of our Kenmore Stainless Steel 1.1 cu.ft. Countertop Microwave are:
LCD Display: includes a clock, gives the cooking time settings and cooking functions I'm selecting
Quick Touch Cooking: these pads are one touch for making popcorn, potatoes, pizza, a plate of food, frozen entree, baked goods, fresh vegetables, or a casserole.
Auto Defrost: This function gives me 3 settings to defrost meat, poultry or fish, up to 6 pounds.
Express Defrost: Same as above, but for 1 pound of frozen food
Kitchen Timer: You can never have too many timers when cooking during the holidays.
Add Minute: This pad lets me cook at 100% power for 1 minute, all the way to 99 minutes and 59 seconds
There are the standard number pads for entering in cooking time, power levels, quantities or weights. I can set the cook time with the touch of a button. The stop/clear button does just that, and the start button has a unique function where I can set a child lock on or off. Anyone with small children would find this invaluable, and it's not been an option I've had on any other microwave we've owned.
This Kenmore Stainless Steel Countertop Microwave does what we need plus it's given us about 2 inches of extra space on the front and sides on the counter. This might not sound like a lot, but when your counter space is limited, it means everything!. A great microwave for a great price!
