Hello. My name is Willow and I am a Coffee-holic. Meet my enabler - the Keurig Elite B40, looking mighty fine decked out in black and waiting patiently to brew up my next fix.

I'm not even going to tell you how many cups of coffee I drink a day. Let's just say - a lot. Rare is the occasion when a coffee mug is not by my side or in my hand. I've tried tea - and when I have a severe sore throat, with a touch of honey, it is soothing; to my throat only. I've tried the water thing and I personally think it tastes like wet dust. Yuck! So when I tell you I have put the Keurig Elite B40 Brew Station through its paces, believe me - it has been tested thoroughly.

The Keurig Elite B40 Brew Station brews and serves a single cup of perfect coffee every time. It will brew two sizes, 7.25 and 9.25 ounces. It has a removable, 48 ounce water reservoir, a removable drip tray and an automatic shut-off option. To brew into a tall cup or travel mug, simply remove the drip tray.

There are many things I love about this coffee brewer. It is super easy to keep clean. Unlike standard coffee makers which brew coffee into a glass carafe that needs constant cleaning to prevent staining, this unit brews the coffee directly into your mug, cup or travel mug. I never have "bottom of the pot" coffee to toss out. I don't worry about breaking a glass carafe when refilling with water or cleaning by banging it accidently against the sink or counter. Every cup of coffee is hot and fresh. No need to heat it up in the microwave when the warming plate turns off. There is no warming plate. This also means less maintenance compared to standard coffee makers. No unsightly etchings of scrubbing or scouring to remove coffee drip stains. Wipe the unit with damp cloth or sponge. Remove the drip tray and rinse any coffee out. You're done. Less than 5 minutes. Probably less than 3.

I don't remove the water reservoir, though I could. I just take a large 4-cup measuring cup and pour water directly in as needed. When the water level is low, a tiny blue light will illuminate.

The Keurig Elite B40 uses K-Cups. Small, sealed, single-serving cups containing coffee and a filter (the image with the brown & green cup cover within the brewer). That means no nasty filters, paper or reusable mesh, that drip across the kitchen counter and floor on the way to the trash can. Nor are you constantly wiping up dry ground coffee that can spill off a spoon when adding to the filter basket of a regular coffee maker.

If you prefer to grind coffee beans, or like a particular brand of coffee that cannot be purchased in a pre-assembled K-Cup, there is an accessory you can buy which allows you to use freshly ground coffee. (See the picture with the brown plastic cup and small mesh filter). I however, prefer the pre-assembled K-Cups.

My kids love the Keurig Elite B40, too! They use the brew station without the K-Cup for hot water to make hot chocolate, cup-of-soup, and instant oatmeal. Anything that requires hot water - and it's not so hot you cannot eat or drink right away. They do not wait for a regular coffee maker to brew a pot of hot water. Nor do they stand in front of the microwave tapping their foot waiting for a small bit of water to heat. The Elite B40 makes instant hot water.

Finally, the coffee is absolutely delicious. Several different companies sell tea (many varieties), and hot chocolate and coffee in K-Cups for the Keurig brew station and the flavors are many; regular, lite, decaf, French, dark, vanilla and on and on.

So, if you, like me, are a complete and utter coffee-holic or know someone who is, I more than highly recommend the Keurig Elite B40 Brew Station - I say it is an absolute necessity for the serious coffee addict!
