I own the 2003 version of the KIA Sorento. I first saw this vehicle while driving on a major highway. The paint job was sheening. The vehicle was all white with silver enhancements. As the sunlight bounced off the vehicle at midday, I must say, I was impressed. I quickly drove to catch up with the automobile to see what the model was. Shocked is a minute version of what I felt when I saw "KIA."
I planned that day to make a trip to the dealership on the weekend. My intent was to purchase the vehicle if the price was right. I was in the market for a new car and knew the KIA's were very reasonably priced. And I heard of the 100, 000 mile warranty.
The weekend approached and I went to purchase my vehicle. Again, I was amazed at the features available at the most reasonable price. I had visited quite a few dealerships and most SUV's had a high price attached to each feature.
The dealer and I agreed on a price and I drove out with my new vehicle in black. The Sorento is a very classy SUV. It has a unique appeal and the paint job is impressive. Black is a very impressive color and has an appeal of its own.
My problem with this vehicle is it seems that I may have purchased somewhat of a lemon. Most of the owners are extremely happy with their purchase and had I not had several unresolved issues, I would be also.
For the price, The KIA Sorento cannot be beat. And the 100, 000 mile warranty gives you a sense of well being if something does occur.
Overall, I give it a 4.0. I would not hesitate to purchase another one if the price, appeal and warranty are similar if not better. And with the two for one deals they continuously offer, if you somehow fall upon a problem with your vehicle, you can always drive the second car pending repair.
