My twenty month old grandson loves to get hold of and play with his uncle's Knex figures but the pieces are dangerously small. I told my husband that Knex should come out with a set for little ones. While out shopping for Christmas presents I cam upon this set of Knex and was really surprised as we had just talked about them. This is a great building set for toddlers. It is recommended for children 3 to 7.
The kit contains 80 colorful, ultra bright bendable pieces which are large, chunky, and connect to joints. Some of the shapes included are arms, legs, and other personality parts.I found the size of the pieces to help my grandson in grasping them and they also were very easy for him to snap together. There are other pieces which are long and narrow and that I would suggest parental observance while their children played with them. Big eyeballs are also included in every kit to make Playground Pals.
There are many different kits which you can add on to one another. We plan on buying more sets in the future. I love the fact that all the kits are interchangeable. More pieces allow for my grandson to become very creative. This is another aspect which I was drawn to as it helps to promote creativity and imagination but it also teaches spatial relations and construction concepts not to mention fine motor development. My grandson smiles after he creates something as he is experiencing the pride and satisfaction of making something on his own. Grandma loves helping him build also.
I really cannot say enough good things about this set. Not only has it let my grandson create on his own but grandma has shared many fun times with him building. It amazes me at how long he will play with these pieces while using his imagination! I highly recommend this kit to all of those parents with toddlers in their house.
This set allows for little ones to use their imaginations as they piece together the different pieces to make different figures. It allows for problem solving, creative thinking and the use of fine motor skills. Some pieces do require more strength and dexterity than others. It is a highly durable, affordable and educational item which provides hours of educational and imaginative play.
