My husband just got back from his leisure trip to Osaka, Japan few days ago and he surprised me with a very beautiful Geisha statue he bought from the souvenir shop in the airport.
The Geisha statue is wearing the traditional kimono dress adorned with big bow and hair accessories. She is holding a little paper fan. The height is about 1 foot tall with a black wooden base as stand.
I like the way the kimono is stitched with intricate details. The heirlooms on the figurine's head is well placed and so are the articial hair glued to the head. I plan to put this Geisha statue in an enclosed glass case so it will not gather dust and destroy the lustre of the kimono dress.
The Geishia figurine is not very heavy. Although I fear for its delicate condition, I find it rather well preserved by the thick carton box packaging.
This figurine will be placed in my cabinet where it will be displayed to adoring viewers. It is indeed a "kirei" Geisha, just like other geishas are...
