When I think of a Knights Inn I think of a decent motel, clean efficient and reasonably priced. That was before I checked into the Knights Inn in Woodhaven Michigan. This hotel is located at I-75 and West Road next door to a Shell gas station. The room was reasonably priced at $39 a night. I only requested the regular room that was suppose to come with cable TV, an alarm clock, hair dryer and of course the bed. I did also request a non-smoking room since I don't smoke. From the moment I opened the door I just knew it was going to be down hill from here.
The smell of stale smoke hit me when the door opened. I walked in and with one look at the floor I could tell that the floor had not been vacuumed after the last guest. There were food crumbs on the floor and even a cigarette butt in the ashtray.
I immediately called the front desk to request I be put in another room since this one was not what I requested. Not only did the employee not want to move me he was very rude and told me that the room had been cleaned. Well it was very obvious that if it had been cleaned it was only half way and if the room looked like this there was no way I was sleeping on the sheets. Finally after exchanging words with the employee I was finally moved to a new room.
The new room did appear clean but the alarm clock was broken and didn't even tell the time let alone have an alarm. Good thing I had brought my own.
Even though I have stayed at several Knights Inn across the United States this is one that I will avoid at any cost.
