Kodak's camera is not one of my choices when come to camera. Olympus fairs much better, but this camera, given by my friend was a surprise.
Containing Kodak Lithium Digital Camera Battery CRV3, USB Cable, Wrist Strap, Getting Started Guide with Kodak Easyshare Software, Custom Camera Insert for Optional Kodak Easyshare Camera and Printer Docks, as well as Kodak 1 Year Warranty, Kodak Z8612 is an Easyshare IS Digital Camera.
I find it great when zoom in to take action movements and scenery.. And it's surprisingly simple to use. The all glass 12X Schiender-Kreuznach Variogon Optical Zoom Lens (36-432 mm) zooms in to deliver extraordinary creative performance.
It also capture consistently great shots by utilizing features such as on-camera cropping, capture grid line display and histogram. The 12x zoom with image stabilization gives me great relief as my hand is always shaky when holding the camera(and got scolded by sis for the blurry picture), but now with Kodak's camera, it never happens again!
With 8.1MP, it captures beautiful HD pictures in 16:9 format. I am in cloud nine when I discover the ability to see my pictures in slideshow in good quality playback. Some of the other cameras don't have this cool feature so it is certainly a blessing to have this slideshow settings.
You know the thing with some people. They don't seem to smile! So, Kodak Z8612 clears up dark shadows to reveal more smiles(=] ).And you know what? It has video editing features! Flash mode and White Balance are fantastic as well, with a wide variety of choices.
However, when there are pros, there are cons too....When zooming, it takes a long time to focus. It doesn't have a viewfinder, which I didn't think would matter after I got it, but it's too difficult to see the picture in sunlight. The other thing that's inconvenient is the lens cap which will not stay on well.
Another thing I find irritating is the battery. Really bad battery performance, I assure you.
