After doing some research on several camera's and writing a list on all the things I wanted to do with my camera. I decided to go with Kodak and I chose the EasyShare Z710.
This camera does have pros and cons.
The biggest factor in requesting this camera was the price. Its an affordable camera, and you get 7.1 Megapixels with 10x zoom.
The camera offers many features such as the abiltiy to just press a button called share and it will upload your photos to your computer (you have to install their software first). There is a self timer, just incase you want to jump in the picture, different flash modes (auto flash, fill, red eye, and no flash), you can take videos and add a SD media card. There is also a capture mode which has different modes you can take pictures in. You can crop and review your photos right on the camera. You can also do manual settings once you learn how to use the camera.
You can add a ton of extras to the camera, like a printer dock, dockstation, and various lenses.
Now with that in mind there are some things I don't like about the camera. There is no image stabilization, the LCD screen should of been a little bit bigger. Once you get to a certain ISO the picture looks a little distorted, so its best not to go past 400. I think they should add rechargeable batteries, the battery they give only last for about 300-400 pictures. Now for some people that is good but for me, I like to take lots of pictures.
All in all, I think its still a great camera for those who are starting out in photography and want to learn the ropes on taking good pictures.
I am glad my hubby gave it to me. Once you learn how to use all the features you will be well on your way in taking great pictures.
Here is a picture I took of the sunsetting. I took the picture while my husband was driving on the highway at 70mph. And to top that the sunset was on his side!
