I had heard these catnip bubbles were supposed to be great big fun for cats. We have had great luck with regular catnip, so I thought I would let our cats have some of this bubble fun I had been hearing about.
We purchased these Kookamunga Catnip Bubbles at Petsmart. I couldn't wait to try them out on our two cats. Our oldest cat loved catnip and always has, but our other cat was not as enthused with it. But this is something new, I thought.
When I blew these bubbles into the air I expected something, any kind of reaction from my cats. Nothing. I blew more and more bubbles into the air until finally the only one looking like they were having any fun was me. My oldest catnip loving cat sat there for a bit, I guess to humor me, then started to take a bath.
The younger cat sort of looked at the bubbles briefly, then walked away.
"Wait!" I told them. "It's catnip! It's bubbles! Isn't this fun? Here, smell it."
We took the bubbles back to Petsmart the next day. The clerk didn't bat an eye when we told her they didn't work.
I am sure there are cats out there that actually enjoy these catnip bubbles, but mine sure didn't. My conclusion is that catnip bubbles are definitely not for every feline.
