Summer time is here, and we are seeing record-breaking temperatures in the Washington, DC area. Being a Winter Baby, heat and humidity are not my thing. I have my home set up so that my bedroom is in the basement during summer months and upstairs during the winter. Being in the basement helps with the electric bill because I do not use my central air conditioning. The basement is cool enough that with a cracked window and a ceiling fan the air feels just right. Problem is that I often suffer from night sweats or if I am being active it does tend to start feeling a bit warmer. I decided to buy a fan. I opted for the Lasko 20-inch box fan. Lasko has been a trusted name for over 100 years and for $16, why not? Crafted in the USA with domestic and imported parts this fan is definitely doing what I need for it to do. This fan has 3 speed controls, it is lightweight and compact for easy mobility, energy-efficient costing $.02 per hour to run, and it has high performance air movement. As expected this fan is a tad bit on the noisy side, but I can get past that knowing, and feeling the air in my room circulating. Besides I have heard noisier fans and window a/c units. I am more than satisfied with the value, and performance of this fan. While my friends are complaining about the heat and how it is affecting their electric bills, I am enjoying the comfort and cost efficiency from my Lasko 20-inch box fan.
