The DTV1000T is basically an entry level TV tuner card that supports the DVB standard. In the box you'll find the PCI based tuner card, remote control & batteries, IR receiver for the remote, setup manual, driver disc containing PVR software and discs containing third party apps for editing and creating 3D titles etc.
On the face plate of the card are 5 connectors, RF antenna in, RF loopback out, remote receiver, CVBS in and SVIDEO in.
The unit itself was a challenge to install, the antenna connections were too high up on the face plate and were non removable. I actually had to cut a slot in my case with tin snips so I could actually get the card in! An old analogue tuner card I have allowed me to remove the antenna connectors from the card to I could slot the card in without hassle.
Once installed, Windows XP automatically recognised it and began installing drivers from the CD.
I recommend going to Leadtek's website and downloading the latest WHQL drivers and PVR2 software. I had a lot of trouble with crashes and freeze up.
The PVR software requires a little fiddling around to get going. Once you work out how to get the channels scanned it's not too bad to use. This card supports dual viewing (picture in picture etc) and recording of one channel while watching another as well as time shifting. Scheduled recording works really well with the PVR software.
I recommend using a dual core processor as running other tasks may interfere with recording and cause glitches when playing back.
This card is fine if you can be bothered ironing out the glitches. Not recommended in an area with very low digital signal
