This toy, leap frog fridge phoncis I found great for what I wanted it for. I'll tell you about the pros and cons of it though. As a parent of one and former child care provider I have had tons of experience with toys and just love them!
I got this for my son, 2, at the time to help with learning the different letters. He also did not know the ABC song and it played that so I wanted it for that reason. This is a great design in that it is a magnet and can be attached to your fridge door. If for some reason that is not an option it will also stick to most washers and dryers or also outside doors are usually made of metal.
This teaches the different sounds each letter makes and also then plays a cute a little song to go with it. It only has capital letters that comes with it but now lower case are also sold. I was mainly going for the letter sound so we only have the one set of letters. It does run off batteries but I have not found it to go through them quickly. Even if it isn't shut off by hand it goes off after a few moments. Also entertaining for child while mom or dad cooks. I also enjoy that is has a volume control as I do not like toys to be too loud.
Great learning toy that I would recommend. The only thing that I don't like about it is once the kids have learned their letters there isn't much more to do with it. It can be used to spell out some simple words, but only has 1 of each letter so your word choices are limited.
