I recently found this game system on clearance at Target. I have loved everything we have purchased from the Leap Frog series and thought I would give this one a shot!

Setting it up was REALLY easy. It just plugs right into the back of my VCR/DVD player and then you just turn it on! No confusing setup menus or anything like that.

There are 3 different gaming areas to choose from as well as a bonus roller coaster building area. Navigation is fairly easy...simple arrow keys and a large red 'enter' button called the Whammy.

I thought that the letters that came with the system would be the same ones that came with all the other Leap Frog items (the Fridge Phonics, etc), but they are different. You have a tray that holds all the letters, but there isn't a space for the extra letters (there are about 5 extra).

The games themselves are fairly easy. The system says its for ages 4 and up, but my 2.5 year old (who does know his entire alphabet) can do the games himself. The bonus rounds are a little hard for him though b/c of the problem solving skills.

Overall, I really like the game...it does teach how to build words and their sounds...the concept is REALLY wonderful, however, for it to be a Leap Frog product...I am a little dissapointed. The image quality is very poor compared to other Leap Frog products (DVD's, etc).

I think I would have been upset had I paid full price for this item. Overall it's fun and extremely educational, and for the price I paid..well worth it!!
