We stopped at Legoland in California recently. My 8 year old son is a huge Lego fan so we thought he would enjoy this place.
The place is really impressive. Our family loved the Miniland USA area. It is a replica of seven regions of the US all made out of Lego bricks! It is amazing.
The have Las Vegas, Florida, New Orleans, New York City, Washington DC, San Francisco and the Southern California coastline area. Our family spent a lot of time in this area looking at all the detail that went into making these buildings. In the Las Vegas area there is even a wedding chapel! The White House is very impressive. Oh and the Empire State Building in NYC area was amazing. This was definitely our favorite area in Legoland and the place we spent most of our time. My Lego manic son really was in awe of the buildings.
As far as the rides, they are pretty tamed. My son is a thrill seeker and he got pretty bored on a lot of these rides. Not to say he did not enjoy the rides, I just think he would of like something more thrilling.
These rides seem to be more geared towards the 7 and under crowd. Although I think kids up to 10 might enjoy some of these rides.
It is a slower pace then a theme park like Disneyland, but it is worth the trip. I did not feel like I wasted our money by visiting here.
Legoland is a nice theme park, especially for the younger crowd. For our family we are glad we went but once will probably be enough.
