I finished another mystery novel that is part of a series. Joanne Fluke is the author and the title of the book is Lemon Meringue Pie Murder. Hannah Swenson is our heroine, and she runs a bakery/coffee shop called The Cookie Jar.
In this novel, Hannah's friend and on-again, off-again boyfriend, Norman Rhodes, informs her that he has just purchased a house and will be tearing it down to build the dream house that Hannah helped him to design for a contest that took place previously. Sounds promising, only Norman has not asked Hannah to marry him...yet. The house had been owned by Rhonda, who works at the drugstore. When Rhonda's body is found in the furnace room of the house, Hannah and Norman are both stunned, and Hannah knows that she must get to work on investigating in order to try and figure out who killed Rhonda and why.
This isn't the first time Hannah has dabbled in solving murders, as previous books in the series will attest to. I found Lemon Meringue Pie Murder to be a good mystery, one that kept me guessing through most of the book as to the identity of the killer. This is a nice, entertaining mystery that portrays Hannah in a favorable light as the heroine of the book. There are also some recipes sprinkled throughout the book. I enjoyed it, and I have read quite a few of the Hannah Swenson mysteries. They have all been enjoyable for me.
