These are indispensable in my house. I have a cat and her nails get long so quickly. When they reach that point, playing with her is like playing with razor blades. I always get scratched!
My cat hates having her nails trimmed. It's so bad that for a while, I was bringing her to the vet's and the vet tech. would have to do it. After some time, I got sick of having to load the cat into her carrier and have to spend $10 each time to get her nails cut. I wanted to save the cat the stress of the car ride (She hates those), and I wanted to save my money.
I remembered I had this pair of pet nail clippers at home, and began using them again. She still gets all fidgety and tries pulls her paws away from my grip. This can be scary when her nails are so long and sharp, but I try and stay calm. It can be quite an event trying to get all of her claws trimmed in one go, so I usually break it up. One paw one day, the second paw the next, and so on.
I like that these are small and maneuverable, since I need to do my job as quickly and efficiently as possible (For both of our sakes). These are 3" long. They're made out of stainless steel. The blades on the clipper are sharp. These are effective.
