I have been waiting to do this review for sometime but was unable to find the paperwork or box that I thought we had saved for some of the information I needed. So yesterday, armed with the pictures I had taken for this review, I sweetly asked my husband to take me to Art Van Furniture where we had bought this beautiful 5 light pendant style stained glass chandelier for our dining room.
We walked in and checked out all the dining room displays and not one chandelier to be found. I approached a nice looking saleswoman, explained to her what I needed and showed her my pictures. She walked us over to her computer, asked for our phone number and up popped our purchase of 11-21-03 with the manufacturer, description, the regular price and our sales price, plus the phone number of the lighting company.
She even looked up to see if they had any type of lamp in stock from this company as I told her my SIL wanted one or mine would be missing some day!
Our stained glass beauty has the following features:
**Starting at the top is a wood toned metal base that attaches to the ceiling. From this is the middle rod that contains the electrical wires and supports the lamp. Also on this base are 4 hooks that hold decorative rods 13" long which attach to matching hooks at the top of the lamp. These help in supporting the weight of the stained glass shade.
**The 3 colors are a light shade of purple, green and amber, which are just as beautiful with the lights turned on or off.
**The bottom of the stained glass shade is 23 inches across and measures 13" from the top of the shade to the bottom. It's hard to explain the pattern of the stained glass except to say it's a free form swirly leaf design. There is a 1-1/2" straight edge around the bottom which looks like half circles in the purple color all banded together.
**There are five 60 watt teardrop shape bulbs which can be turned up to full brightness or down for a romantic dinner with a dimmer switch on the wall.
We never fail to get compliments and I love the colors. Purple might not sound like a good color but the combination works beautifully with the dark lead and the overall design. Another reason I chose this pendant design was easy dusting of the top of the shade. Just a few swipes with a dry swifter and you're done.
I have to give thanks to the saleswoman that helped us because now I can pass on all the necessary information to my sister-in-law. I'm also taking this with us when we move as it took us over a year to find it and I don't want to go through that again!
