Do you need a printer, scanner, copier and fax machine? If you do, this printer does all of these things, at an affordable cost. It offers value and convenience. This printer has worked great for the past several years.
It is only 18.1" X 13.3" and weighs 12 pounds. It has a USB interface.
This is a thermal inkjet printer. It prints black and color with photo-quality results (up to 2400x1200 dpi), scans in color at 48-bits, copies in color, and comes with fax machine software.
One negative is that it eats color ink. I emptied my color cartridge in two months. The black cartridge lasted a lot longer. If you have extensive color printing needs, this is not for you. If you just need a utility printer for text and things, such as postage, etc., this is a great solution. The maximum printing speeds are 11 pages per minute in black or 6 in color.
The flatbed scanner is better than the printer. It scans color images in under thirty seconds at 300 dpi, which is better than scanners I've owned. It's even better on higher settings but takes about three minutes at 9600 dpi. The OCR (optical recognition recognition) is okay but it needs editing.
The copier works well but I've only tried it in black, not color. If set correctly, the quality is as good as any copy you can get. The maximum copying speeds are 9 copies per minute in black or 4 in color.
The fax functions are adequate for infrequent faxes but is better for sending than receiving. The FaxTools software is mediocre. The graphics software is about the same - offers basic functions.
The paper feed tray opens to a near vertical position, so it doesn't take up much space. There is a tray in front to hold printouts. The paper occasionally gets jammed, which is easy to fix but the computer very rarely needs to reboot. One major annoyance is that I can't get envelopes to print correctly.
All of the functions can be controlled on the printer control section on the top panel offers.
One of these OS:
Windows 98, ME, 2000 (all versions, Pentium 200, 64 MB RAM, 286 MB hard disk space),
Microsoft Windows XP (all versions, Pentium 233, 128 MB RAM, 500 MB hard disk, 286 MB virtual RAM)
Macintosh OS 9.2 (G3 300, 64 MB RAM, 250 MB hard disk, 64 MB virtual RAM)
Macintosh OS X (G3 300, 128 MB RAM, 250 MB hard disk, 64 MB virtual RAM)
The package includes: printer black cartridge, color cartridge, installation software CD, BVRP FaxTools software, setup sheet & user's guide, power supply
This is great multifunction machine for home or small office use that takes up little space but delivers good results. The X75 is not perfect but it serves my needs.
