Smartphones are awesome! The monthly plan can be quite pricy though, thankfully Virgin Mobile fixed that. Starting at $25 a month you can get unlimited data & texting and 300 minutes per month. Best part is, there's no contract! You can upgrade to $40/monthly for 1200 minutes with unlimited data & texting or $60/monthly for unlimited minutes, data, and texting. If you're looking for a nice android phone and wanting to avoid a high monthly bill I highly recommend Virgin Mobile.

LG Optimus V is one of the android phones they sell and I personally think it's very nice. As you can see from my rating (2/5) the battery life on this phone is not the best. After a few hours of using this phone non-stop you would need to charge it. It may not be a problem for some but for others I recommend you carry the charger around. There are some really cool gadgets you can get such as swype and animated backgrounds. Virgin Mobile is powered by Sprint so I would recommend doing some research on the service and coverage. There is a coverage map that is available to you on the website.

I have been with Virgin Mobile for a few months now. I haven't had any major problem with customer service. Virgin Mobile also offer other plans such as prepaid Paylo plan this is similar to GoPhones. They also offer MiFi2200 which is a mobile hotspot, you can learn more about this on the site. Personally, I would NOT recommend buying the phone straight off the site as it may be cheaper somewhere else.

The Optimus V is $200.00 on the site but I bought it for only $150 from best buy. Also, the price of Virgin Mobile changes a lot. There are times in the year where it the deals are very nice. I bought the LG Rumor Touch for only $70 during Black Friday when it was $150 but the price of this phone has been lowered to $100 now. The Rumor Touch is also an LG and a very nice phone. However, this is not an Android Phone and it's not 3G. The battery life of this phone is a lot better than the Optimus V but I would still perfer the Optimus over the Rumor.

Some features of this phone:

-Android 2.2

-3.2in QVGA display

-3G and wifi capability

- Google Maps Navigation included

-Touch screen, no keyboard
