I started using solely clear mascara a year ago. I got really fed up with the dry black flakes I would get under my eyes during the day. Also, I was never able to use it on my lower lashes. I couldn't finagle the brush down there without getting mascara everywhere. Plus, I would get the transfer of wet mascara over and under my eyes from blinking, while waiting for it to dry.
I tried Jane Hi-Fiber when I ran out of my usual clear mascara, E.L.F. Wet Gloss Lash and Brow. Wet Gloss wasn't available at Rite Aid, so when I saw Jane's I bought it. I use it on my eyebrows to groom them since they can be unruly and move around easily. After it dries, my eyebrows feel slightly stiffer, but still soft. This controls them pretty well.
This product can feel wet for a little while. I applied it to my brows at 10:17 AM this morning. I noticed that it was completely dry by 10:21 AM.
I am able to blink with this on without getting any marks under my eyes since it is clear. I am also able to get the wand under my lower lashes without making that huge, inky mess that I would with black mascara. I didn't get any flakes during the day either from Hi-Fiber. When I put it on this morning, I compared my right eye which had it on, to the left eye which didn't. There was a dramatic difference. The mascara made the eyelashes on my right eye look more curled, darker, longer and glossier.
I like to curl my eyelashes and then use this. I use 3 coats. There's no clumping. It seems to hold the curl and really lasts all day.
This product is oil-free. I don't notice a major smell to it either. Fragrance is not listed on the ingredients.
