This scrabble game was given to me as a gift after my deluxe scrabble set was destroyed by the flood waters of Huricane Katrina. It is a neat game, and it is part of a collection of other "library" games. Just like the other "library" games, the storage case for the Library Scrabble Game Set is made to look like a library book. Inside this wooden "book", you'll find the game board, 100 wooden letter tiles in a handy little pouch, the wooden tile racks and the instructions.
I have always loved scrabble and now I have neat way to store my favorite game. No longer to I have to hide it in a closet or underneath an amour (where my last scrabble was). I can now display this game on a bookshelf and at a glance, you would not know that it was a board game.
I do have one complaint about it though. The board was folded 3 times, so there are creases in the board when you unfold it and sometimes it doesn't sit completely flat. Other than that, there are no complaints with this game.
For those you that aren't not familiar with scrabble, it is a game for 2-4 people, ages 8 and up. Each player chooses 7 letter tiles from the pouch (you can't peek in the pouch). The first player spells a word with his/her tiles, starting on the star in the middle of the board. Each tile has a point value and the total number of points on the tiles used for the word is the score for that word. That player then takes the number of tiles used in the word from the pouch. The next player must use a letter from the first word to spell a word using his/her tiles. They then take the appropriate number of tiles from the pouch. Play continues until all tiles are gone or until no one else can spell a word. There are bonus squares on the board that can double or triple your word score or letter score. Of course, instructions are included in this game.
This is a great game for older children and adults. I highly recommend it!
