I stayed in Lido De Jesolo in July 2009, during a school visit to Venice. If planning on visiting Venice, it is advisable to stay in Lido De Jesolo, as it has an easy boat excursion to Venice and is reasonably priced. Lido De Jesolo has plenty of activities itself, for young and old alike. There are plenty of nightclubs, restaurants, theme park and a beach. There are also some good souvenir shops, my favourite being a small decorative candle shop.
We stayed in a 2** hotel called ‘Hotel du Bepi' which contains a restaurant adjacent to it. The hotel was not great, but then for 2** you can't really be fussy. There is a wide range of hotels available, many different ratings and prices and so you will need to look around. Make sure your hotel is not located on the main high street, as this is busy at night due to the number of nightclubs along this street. Food in the area is great with many amazing pizzerias. The boat excursion to Venice is cheap and runs several times a day.
I would recommend visiting Lido De Jesolo, but would not recommend staying in 'Hotel Du Bepi'.
