Lamps have a large impact on the look of a room, not only in the amount of light they put out, but their style also plays a role.
When looking for lamps for my family room, I had an idea of what I was looking for. Next, I had to find it. I love the traditional styles that never seem dated. After looking in a few stores and not finding what I wanted, I went to JCPenney at my local mall.
Penney's carries a nice assortment of lamps and often have very good sales. I found this lamp there and immediately knew it was what I was looking for. I purchased two of them and was anxious to get them home and see if they fit in as I thought they would. They did.
This lamp is made by Stiffel, a well-known and well respected name in the lamp industry. The base is brass and the shade is white pleated. The lamp is quite heavy. I've had it for a few years and it is still as good as it was when I bought it. I believe this is considered a candlestick design, though I can't remember for certain. Standing 33" tall and with a shade that is 11" tall and 16" across, the lamp makes its presence known in the room. It uses a 150 watt, 3-way bulb.
Using my vaccum cleaner tool attachment to remove any dust on the shade and wiping the lamp with a clean cloth is all it takes to keep this lamp looking nice. In the past, I've owned brass lamps that look pretty at first, but it didn't last they way this brand has.
I have been very happy with this purchase will be looking at Stiffel lamps again when I am ready to buy lamps in the future.
