I love Lincoln Logs! When I was a little girl I never had a set. I don't know why because I had just about everything else. However, my best friend (a boy) had several sets plus a specially made table with a green, brown. and blue felt top. (His mother made the table and it was set up to look like a pasture, a lake, and farm fields.)
I can remember playing with my friends Lincoln Logs for hours. We always had a blast. The rich memories made me want a set of logs for my daughter. Santa Claus came through for me last Christmas.
The Fort Redwood Lincoln Log set is awesome. It has 200 pieces in varying sizes. You can build Fort Redwood or one of the other houses on the included plans. If you want to use your imagination, you can build a design of your own.
This set has a large handy storage box with a handle. All the pieces are stained wood just as they were years ago. It is recommended for children ages 3 and up.
I believe Lincoln Logs enhance a child's imaginary play. They also encourage hand/eye coordination, interactivity, and number/size relation. This is the all around perfect toy for any child (young and old alike).
My next plan is to replicate a building table similar to the one my childhood friend had. Of course I'll have to add to the Fort Redwood set so we can build and entire Lincoln Log town!
