There are so many areas of my house that need vacuuming, that aren't worth dragging out the big vacuum cleaner for. Or perhaps there are some tight, difficult areas that a regular vacuum cleaner can't reach. That's when I enjoy using a lightweight (stick-type) vacuum cleaner. I have tried many over the years, and I like the featherweight Bissell a lot. Of course, you can't expect a small vacuum to have the same power as a large one. But this one is great for those quick pick-me-up areas, like the kitchen, steps, bathroom, or foyer. It is a multipurpose vacuum, and can be used on carpet, floors, upholstered furniture, drapes, etc. It can be easily changed from a floor vacuum to a hand held vacuum, and also has a crevice tool, for those hard to reach places.
I am not really "wowed" by bagless vacuums. I don't see the thrill in having to empty the dirt cup, and exposing myself to all kinds of dirt and dust. However, that seems to be the latest marketing focus for vacuum cleaners these days. So that would be the feature that I don't like. It is so messy, that I have decided to only empty it outside, where I won't be as closed in with the allergens. Give me bags any day!
I also like to take this small, lightweight vacuum to my collectibles/flea market booth, because it is easily portable, and works great in a smaller area. I have lots of glass items there, and prefer not to risk breakage, by using a bulky, oversized vacuum.
Because it's small, it's easy to store in a convenient corner of your home, and we use ours every night on the area rug in the kitchen, after cooking. It has a 16" power cord, so it reaches fairly far. It would also be an excellent tool for vacuuming a car.
My little lightweight Bissell vacuum may be small, but it's mighty!
