The LS21 multimedia speakers from Logitech is easy to install and use. The sound quality was clear and easy on the ears. However, I realize why they were on sale for $29.99. The volume control doesn't get very loud when turned all the way up. It is a comfortable sound for someone who typically likes to listen to their music low. These would be okay for an office environment with a small cubicle, trust me you would get no complaints unless of course you turned the bass all the way up! Now that is the feature I liked the most--the bass sound. I purchased these because I wanted additional sound coming from my laptop especially when I want to share a recent song I found on the Internet. But imagine my disappointment when I couldn't crank it! When it comes to the look, beautiful! Matches my onyx finish Toshiba laptop great. I also like how I can organize my speaker cords by wrapping them around the backs of each speaker, so that they are out of the way.
Now when things got a little challenging for me was when I had to adjust the volume for the first time during set up. For whatever reason, I wasn't hearing any sound so I had to re-read the small paragraph of instructions, push the audio cord in and out, and then double check that all cords were connected and volume was up. There was a small section in the instruction booklet on troubleshooting which was helpful after the fact. Overall, the instructions were easy to read and there were different instructions depending on what window system you have. There was also instructions for Mac users.
I did purchase these after talking briefly to someone who worked at the store who seemed to be confident I would like them very much, well not so--I like them somewhat! I am continuing to learn everyone hears music differently. I want to be able to hear the light piano sounds playing in the background of the vocalist including any suprises, but with the volume turned all the way up, I wasn't that satisfied.
I definitely would recommend these to a person who isn't interested in listening to music loud due to a quiet environment or work setting. I also would recommend these to someone who isn't often listening to music. But I would never buy these for a teenager who loves listening to his or her music loud, a man in mid-life wanting to re-explore his youth, or a mother trying to drown out the noises of her active children in the next room.
