I enjoyed watching Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman - The Complete First Season. I thought it was entertaining and I especially liked the chemistry between the two leads, Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher.
Dean Cain plays the role of Clark Kent/Superman. He comes to The Daily Planet and joins the staff as a reporter. Lois Lane (played by Teri Hatcher) is The Planet's top reporter, and she and Clark are teamed up for various assignments. Clark is from a small-town, and Lois ribs him about this but grows to like him. She really likes Superman, though, and doesn't have any idea that Clark and Superman are one and the same. For her own protection, Clark must keep his secret identity just that...secret. There are numerous times when Lois and Clark are together where Clark will disappear, which puzzles Lois. What she doesn't know is that he is off to help someone in need as his alter ego, Superman.
There are six discs in this first season collection, and a total of 21 episodes. That amounts to a run time of 1074 minutes. There are also an assortment of special features, including a retrospective documentary, a behind-the-scenes featurette, and interviews with Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher.
I got a kick out of these shows. For me, they were lighthearted entertainment with some drama thrown in here and there for good measure. If you are a Superman fan, or a Lois & Clark fan, you would probably enjoy the first season of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
