While in the hospital several months ago I was treated for allergies. I was given Loratadine which is what Claritin is. Once I was out of the hospital I bought generic Loratadine because it is much cheaper. This medicine contains 10 mg Loratadine. It can be used for indoor and outdoor allergies.
Loratadine is advertised to relieve sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes and itch nose/throat due to hay fever and other upper respiratory allergies.
The package says to give to people 6 years old and up but one should discuss with a doctor as to whether you or your child should take this.
If you buy the Claitin brand it comes in a non drowsy formula and children's varieties..
Even though the package says you can take one of these daily I take one of these every other day and it has done well for me. My allergies are not so bad right now so I can take a lower dose. I really think this is effective for me. I like that there is a generic version to help me save money.
WARNING: read all directions on the box and discuss with your doctor as to whether you should be taking this medicine as some people should not be taking allergy medicines. There can be side effects to these types of medicines.
