I got on the Lost bandwagon later than most. A few months ago, while I was sick, I decided to see what all the fuss was about, and watched Season One. I was hooked! Now I am quite aware of what all the fuss is about. It's a twisting, turning plotline that delves into the hidden things of each character's life, showing how each and every event has lead up to the plane crash that landed them all there.
As a fan of Alias, J.J. Abrams' previous hit, I could instantly see his hands all over it. Mysterious events, unexplained mysteries, and nail-biting cliffhangers keep you coming back time and time again, wanting, needing to know more. And Season Three does this even better than the previous two.
Season Three picks up after the shocking events of the previous season's conclusion, which had split up the castaways into two groups: the beach survivors; and the key leaders, Jack, Sawyer, and Kate, who have been taken by "The Others." Episodes alternate between what is happening to each group, which means you need to wait two episodes if you want to know what happens to your favourite character! I'm sure this must have driven the real-time audience crazy as this season aired... It drove me crazy, even though I had the following episodes at my fingertips! I will admit to staying up way too late for several nights in a row, until the story was complete!
Only, of course, the story never does complete. It leaves you just as shocked and hooked as you were before, begging for Season Four!
If you want action and drama that keeps you guessing, pick up Season Three of Lost, and prepare to lose yourself in the story.
