I bought this camera to replace my old Canon SD 400. Though I was hesitant to purchase another Canon after my previous model, I am glad I did! The overall design of this camera is extremely sleek. The camera itself is the standard silver color, but the design is much smaller, the side slightly rounded, and the screen in the back is quite large. One drawback - no touch screen, but I didn't need it with the way the features are designed.
Initial setup is a breeze. The first time the camera is turned on, you are prompted for dates, times, and any other customization features. The camera is a "point and click" model, and there is a build in image stabilizer that will center your photos and recognize faces within the shot. The side dial also lets you know if you are in a picture viewing or taking mode, and it is extremely easy to switch between the different modes. I highly recommend this camera and am told by those "in the know" that this is better than the Sony cybershot with touch screen. My only complaint is that the picture drive that comes with it is very small and only holds about 8 pictures, so you will need to pick up another one if you plan to go on a long vacation or need it for multiple events immediately after purchase.
