I must admit, I love reading my ten year old son's children's books. Not only are they a quick read but the meaning behind his books trigger emotions inside of me.

"Love You Forever" is a book that shows the bond between a mother and her son starting from his birth until he is older and has his own child. Every night, this loving mom would rock her child and sing:

I'll love you forever,

I'll like you for always,

As long as I'm living

my baby you'll be.

"Love You Forever" chronicles when the baby boy enters the terrible twos and he virtually destroys everything in the house and drives his mom crazy! At night time though when everything is peaceful and still, the mom rocks the little boy and sings her song to him and all is well again.

The little boy turns nine, becomes a teenager and when he becomes a man, he moves out of the house. Throughout those stages, at night, his mom still sings her "I'll love you forever......" song. When he is a man and moves out, the mom of course is also older and when she visits him, she tries to sing

I'll love you forever,

I'll like you for always.....

but she cannot finish her song because she is so sick. That is when the son rocks his mom and sings

I'll love you forever,

I'll like you for always,

As long as I'm living

my Mommy you'll be.

The son becomes a dad and at night when everything is still, guess what song he sings to his baby daughter!

This book always makes me shed some tears when I read that it as it shows how tender this young man is and how much his mom means to him. I pray that my son will feel the same way about me as he gets older because I know that

I'll love him forever.
