When I went looking for a camera case, I wanted something that was not very expensive, but that would protect my camera. I wanted a case that looked good, but I did not want to pay a lot of money for a leather case.
I thought I would find Kodak camera cases at our local Best Buy, but instead there was a brand called Lowepro. The cases I saw by Lowepro seemed to be well made. They were also the right price. I found a case that would fit our Kodak Z712 perfectly. The case is model TLZ 10. The dimensions of the case are 5.5 x 5.25 x 3.75.
This case has the secure plastic clasp I was looking for rather than just velcro. The case is well padded enough to make me think my camera is protected. I really like the design and the way it is shaped to fit a small SLR camera.
I like that this case is a top loading case and that it is soft yet sturdy. The clamshell lid actually stretches to fit over the base of the case. There is plenty of room inside the case to fit a camera with fixed or interchangeable lenses. The soft tricot makes me worry less about my camera getting scratched. I like the cool little front pocket that is perfect for memory cards and batteries.
The case is black and made of a fabric called ripstop nylon. It looks to me like it would be pretty stain resistant, so I like that right away. There is a padded shoulder strap which I use a lot. There is also a little handle on top which is good to move the case from one area to the next while you are sitting down without having to dangle the shoulder strap way up in the air.
I am happy with my Lowepro camera case. I think I got a good deal.
