Image for M600i - still a good buy?

This phone, did not amase me at start... With no jog dial, no keys to answer /ornd calls and with tiny touch screen buttons at some case that i couldnt use just my finger, just made me frustrated.

However after 2 weeks of use - this was my best phone till now. I didnt need a camera on my phone and this was one of the few mobiles that did not have one. However its' more advance version (P1i) has one if you are interested.

So when the user gets used of the way that this phone should be used (i.e. getting into the settings with no jog dial) the phone becomes more than enjoyable!

If i had to review this phone about a year before, i would have said it is the best phone for someone that does not need either a camera or a wifi. With a QWERTY keyboard on which you can write as fast as on a computer, with no problem software (especially after the updates done by Sony Ericsson) and the slim looks of it, becomes an incredible package... Nokia and Blackberry offer phones, however they do not have a touchscreen...

However the rating of the phone has becoming lower and lower, after the introduction of phones with MultiTouch screens, GPS, 3G, and the Wifi being almost a prequisite (almost like a bluetooth nowadays).

P1i over M600? If you dont bother about a camera or Wifi, go for the M600! Less money and slimmer.

Dont care about money? Should buy one of the new phones Iphone, HTC Diamond, Blackberries or wait for the Xperia by Sony Ericsson.

Liked: Size, Excellent keyboard, No problems in the system after the last update by Sony Ericsson.

Disliked: Now it has become out of date with no GPS, no Wifi, no Camera, No MultiTouchscreen. Annoying that there is not answer/reject or Back button at the front of the mobile. Not a top sound quality. The screen is not readable when you go out and there is a lot of sun.

Would want on it: The same exact model, as the Keyboard is excellent and the package that it comes with a touchscreen makes it an incredible model. but also would need now definitely a WiFi, GPS and a MuLti Touch. Also 3 buttons at the front answer / reject / back. The camera depends on each user.
