My husband has been looking for a GPS for a while, and up until now has not found one that he's been happy with. Well, HSN was featuring the Magellan RoadMate 1470, and we decided to try it. After all, if it wasn't to our liking, we had thirty days in which to return it.
My husband seems to really like this system. The feature I like the most is the 4.7" widescreen display, which is very nice. The GPS has many features, including an AAA TourBook, which gives ratings and descriptions of AAA approved locations, a OneTouch favorites menu which allows you to have easy access to your bookmarks and favorites, and a highway lane assist, which ensures that you will choose the correct lane before your next interchange.
The volume can be turned up fairly loudly if you have road noises to overcome, which is a feature my husband especially likes.
The Magellan includes preloaded maps of the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. It also has multi-destination routing, AAA Member Roadside Assistance, millions of points of interest, QuickSpell with Smart City search, and Traffic Link compatability.
HSN sold out of this system, but I'm sure they will be getting more back in stock. My husband and I chose four flex payments, which allows us to stretch the cost of the GPS out over four payments instead of having to pay it fully in one lump sum.
I think we have finally found a keeper.
