With kids drooling over the likes of Kobe Bryant, Lebron James and Allen Iverson, they might not know there there was once a point guard who could play all five positions who had the size of today's power forward and had the skills of yesterday's best point guards. Who is he? He is none other than the "magic man" Magic Johnson.
Magic Johnson spearheaded the 1980's Los Angeles Lakers to five championships in the eighties. He lead teams filled with stars like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jamaal Wilkes, Bob McAdoo, James Worthy and Byron Scott with a furious fastbreak attack that was known as Lakers Showtime. In contrast to his nemesis Larry Bird, Magic was very cool and flashy. He however, never forgot the games fundamentals.
This little Kenner Action Figure is quite collectible to place in your shelf or workplace and looks quite detailed. It was made when Johnson made a brief return to the Lakers in 1996. It also comes with a genuine NBA licensed Upper Deck Trading card. The only thing that prevents it from being a great figure is that it has limited poseability features. It would also havebeen nice if the player's jerseys were made of real clothes like the Mego toys were. The toy however is great to display in the room. It is a very collectible action figure.
