Planeshift is the thirtieth Magic the Gathering set. It continued along the path of Invasion. It also introduced two new mechanics. The first one is gating which returns a creature to your hand but makes up for it by making the gating creature cheaper and also familiars which reduce the casting cost of allied colors.
Planeshift is a small set which contained merely 143 cards. Its powerful cards were Flametongue Kavu, Draco, Lord of the Undead, Phyrexian Scuta and Meddling Mage. The set wasnot really special and only added to what was in Invasion.
I was not very impressed by the set. It was not as powerful as it should have been. The fun factor was there however. Cards like Flametongue Kavu and Meddling Mage saw a lot of time in tournament play.
