These magnetic stix and balls are fun to play with the start but later you get serious about making great improvements and greater shapes and buildings. I built a mouse trap from my first go but then started to build sophisticated art work. I would think this as an educational toy because this would help children get a taste of symmetry and maybe dexterity and also a taste of magnets andto see what they can do.
sThe magnetic stix and balls are designed for playing and creating. Its for people ages 5 and above. They sell multi-color stix and balls and if you want you can buy the glow in the dark stix, magnetic balls and the round plastic balls which do nothing to aid you in building things at all.
In the small tins (which i own) you get 18 magnetic balls, 24 small stixs and 12 big stixs. I would only buy this if i was serious about puzzles and building things. Oh and by the way, try not to lose any of these parts because they can stick up to anything and get lost very easily
