Mainstays Floor Household Lighting Lamp

I like having a lamp next to my bed so I can read or work puzzles. A week ago my reading lamp quit working. While shopping, I found the Mainstays Floor Lamp with Reading Light on display in the lamp section of Wal-Mart.

The Mainstays Floor Lamp with Reading Light is black with white plastic shades. This floor lamp stands seventy-two inches tall (183 cm). It has a floor lamp at the top of the stand. The reading light is located about forty inches up from the ground. The reading light extends twelve inches away from the base and has a gooseneck which means it is moveable and can be angled in any direction.

Other features of this lamp include:

-a 3 way switch

-easy to assemble instructions

-a black finished stand

-it uses a 60 watt bulb (maximum) for the reading light or a 13 watt (maximum) CFL bulb (not included)

-it uses a three-way 150 watt (maximum) bulb for the lamp or a 40 watt CFL bulb (not included)

-the cord is about 5 or 6 feet long

This is a nice lamp. I really enjoy having a light that can be angled in any direction. The Mainstays Floor Lamp with Reading Light was easy to put together. The key is making sure every piece screws together tightly so it does not wobble.

I put in a rating that I called "sturdiness". In other words, I mean that the lamp will stay upright; unless someone bumps the lamp hard. If you have children or pets, you might want to put this lamp near a wall or in a place where it is less likely to turn over.

My only warning, is that the lamp shades seem to get hot when the light is on for any length of time. Be careful or use a lower wattage bulb than recommended. No bulbs are included with the lamp.
