I have been to the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN many times.
When it first opened I enjoyed the Mall. I could do all my Christmas shopping in one trip. They had many unique stores that I could find that perfect gift. Recently though I have noticed that those small unique stores have been closing and stores like Dell, Gap, Old Navy, Sharper Image, etc., are moving in. I am disappointed in that. I used to really like the mall because of the stores you can not find anywhere else. There are still some stores that are unique but not quite as many as there once was.
If you never been to the Mall it is worth a stop. I personally would try to avoid the weekends as there are a lot of teenagers running around during that time.
The mall has a little theme park. It is not much, but my son really enjoys some of the rides. Even though there is a roller coaster there, it is not wild. My son went on it when he was 3 years old and did fine. It is very mild.
The Mall does have an aquarium that cost to get into. It is OK, they have jelly fish, sea turtles, sharks and sting rays you can pet. We enjoyed it, but don't feel the need to go back again.
One thing the Mall does have a lot of is places to eat. There really is something for everyone here. They have two huge food courts, but also a number of nice sit down restaurants. My family never goes hungry at the Mall.
If you never been to the Mall, it is a nice place to check out. Just remembering how it was when it first opened I am a little disappointed in it now and do not go there nearly as much as I once did.
