March of the Minis is another entry in the popular puzzle game. In this game you play as Mario, who has released small Mini-Marios to attack Donkey Kong. The puzzle game somewhat resemble the older Lemmings games, where you have to move your Minis to the exit as quickly as possible without killing most of them.
The graphics are excellent on the DS screen. Sprites are bright and colorful, and they are not repetitive. Sounds are equally as good, though there aren’t very many voices used. Background music is standard for Mario games, with nothing that stands out.
Gameplay is fun and easy to learn. The opening levels are fairly basic and ramp up the difficulty as they go on. Each “world” is capped off with an action sequence taking on Donkey Kong. Each of these is a lot of fun and incorporate the DS stylus well.
Overall March of the Minis is a perfect travel game. Levels are relatively short, allowing you to beat chunks at a time, and the game is so fun you won’t want to put it down.
