If you look at my photo of the front cover of this book, you will notice how well used it appears to be. I used this book over and over again to help the kids with their math and even to refresh my own memory on how to do certain things so that the kids would think I was smarter than them! As they grew that certainly wasn't always the case!
I like this book because it never felt intimidating to the kids. The instructions are very straight forward and easy to understand, with great diagrams and examples every step of the way.
Scholastic Books are the publishers of this Desk Reference; Anne Zeman and Kate Kelly are the authors. It is designed to be used by the students themselves if no other help is available. Or for parents to help their students.
From ancient number systems to probability and statistics, this reference book leaves nothing out. It was always so reassuring to have on my book shelf as a parent with children learning the fundamentals of math. I still have it though my youngest is now in Community College. After all, there will be grandchildren who need help, and basic math really doesn't change.
