The performance is exemplary for a diesel vehicle in particular. With the twin turbochargers, the acceleration is not a problem. The vehicle is also ideal for towing, because of the small size, good gas mileage and luxury features this vehicle sure fits a certain niche in the SUV market.
This car is very appealing, mercedes has just done a facelift on the grille of the vehicle and this adds a sporty feel to the car. the interior is very nice, the MBTex leather substitute is almost better than the real thing, becuase of the increased durability. The interior is very well done with a very good fit and finish.
I have had several problems with the vehicle, none major but nevertheless annoyances. The service staff at Mercedes-Benz dealerships are very helpful and will generally give you a car while yours is being serviced.
Very good for an SUV, this is particularly suprising because of the acceleration and performance of the vehicle. Because this vehicle is diesel powered it is substantially cheaper to operate than a conventially fueled vehicle. The diesel is also quiter than the gas powered version of this vehicle, becuase of the sound dampening material in the car.
This is a very fun vehicle, it has many desierable features that one may want, such as sirius radio. But, this vehicle also is like driving a sedan, or at least a smaller vehicle with a much bigger engine, the twin turbochargers really give the driver an enjoyable driving experience.
Ease of Use:
this car is very user freindly (thanks to german engineering), but there are some counter-intuitive things, such as the cruise control toggle. It is placed where the turn signal shoudl be, causing the driver (or at least an untrained one) to activate the cruise control whenever the turn signal is activated.
Update On Jun 17, 2009: Update: Since the purchase of the car less than a year ago, the oil has needed to be changed 20-30 times. I do not know if this is because of the diesel, or because it is a new car, but either way it is an annoyance!
