I received an email in November that Jim Shore would be coming to Disney's Days of Christmas at the Downtown Disney Marketplace on December 6 and would be signing the pieces he designs for the Disney Traditions Collection. You can bet I called my daughter right away to let her know which piece I would like and would she be available to go down and have it signed for me.

Forward to Christmas day and opening presents. I actually received a much more beautiful collectible figurine than the one I had asked for. This gorgeous Santa was given to me by my youngest daughter's boyfriend who had gone down to the Marketplace on December 6, stood in line in the hot sun for 2 hours before he got inside the store and inched his way up to Mr. Shore. When it was finally his turn he asked to have the piece addressed to me and on the bottom it is signed "To Alice" and "Jim Shore 2008".

Mickey's Tree Trimming Party is a large collectible Santa figurine measuring 10-1/2" high by 6" diameter. The inside of the Santa is carved out like a dome and there is a musical diorama set within this of Mickey, Donald and Goofy trying to place the star on top of their Christmas tree. On the backside of the tree is Pluto who looks like he is guarding the presents. This entire diorama rotates around by winding it up with a dial on the bottom and it's illuminated with an LED light. While Mickey and the gang are twirling around it plays the song "Deck the Halls".

This is another wonderful collector piece by this renowned artist. I collect only the Disney pieces he creates and as you can see from the pictures the details are outstanding. Each piece looks like a hand carved piece of folk art with the most beautiful colors and shading.

Mickey's Tree Trimming party was introduced just before the holidays in 2008. It is made of hand-painted stone resin and is quite heavy. Each piece is securely packaged in form fitting styrofoam to prevent any damage and comes with instructions for operating and inserting the batteries.

This beautiful vintage style collectible will be proudly displayed with my other Disney pieces from Mr. Shore. Please check him out if you haven't already. You can find all his Disney pieces at http://www.disneyshopping.com/ and searching on Jim Shore.
