This Company has only been on the go for twenty something years, but in that time have gained some reputation in the industry. They actually employ ex-criminals to do a lot of the testing of products.
This company is based in Liverpool, but are expanding into China and Hong Kong. They received a Queen's Award for Enterprise for Innovation 2004.
The price of this particular safe varies so much it is not worth mentioning, suffice to say I thought it was reasonable.
These safes areavailable at many places, especially the larger DIY Superstores and quite a number of large supermarkets.
The Micromark has electronic 4 digit pin code operation, plus a reserve manual key just for emergencies. You will get a warning when the batteries are running low.
It uses the small pencil type batteries, (AA type) which are cheap enough to replace, and last for years. I normally recommend rechargeable batteries, but these last so long it really is not worth it.
Size is about the same as a bread bin, and because the door is very thick, there is not that much room inside. This is designed for cash, jewelery, passports, credit cards and suchlike, so there is plenty of space.
Your only choice of colour is a pale grey, and this is a matt finish, however you may wish to paint it, if so I can recommend Hammerite. The finish is actually powder coated, so it will not need painting, just letting you know that you have the option.
The safe is very user friendly, and so easy to use.
It is recommended that it is bolted to the floor, or to the bottom of a wardrobe for more security. This quite easy to do, as Micromark have provided mounting holes in the safe.
It is of course rather heavy, this is because it being made of steel, and therefore solid, you can't have it both ways.
I can recommend these to a lot of people, including pensioners, students, and basically anyone with small items that require a little more security than a cupboard.
I a'm not giving too much information on the operation of this safe, you can read the when you buy one. Just take it from me, these are pretty good.
Micromark have a web site, see here for any more info you require:-
