I do most of my work on laptop computers. Often, I sit at cramped tables full of other laptop users. It doesn't leave much space for a mouse, so I like using wireless versions. I had problems with the wireless mouse I previously owned, so I was resistant to buy the Microsoft Notebook Optical Mouse 3000. However, once I started using it, I was more than pleased with my purchase.

I purchased this mouse for about $20 at Staples. I did notice that it can be purchased at Amazon.com in additional colors. One feature I really like is the battery used to power the Microsoft mouse. It takes one AA battery instead of those irritating small circular batteries like the other wireless mouse I had before. The battery is easy to put in and take out because of the handy push button feature. It is much easier to push open the device instead of needing a screwdriver to work the thing.

The Microsoft Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 plugs in to a USB opening. It connects very quickly, usually without even having to push the connector buttons. If it does get stuck, it is easy to reset.

I have found that I don't even need a mouse pad to use this wireless mouse unless I'm working on a very rough surface. Also, the standard setting for the speed of movement is a little fast, but that can be changed in the properties.

I would definitely buy this product again and I recommend it highly. I rate it five out of five stars because it is easily portable, functions at a high level, and was inexpensive to purchase.
